Anthropic merged its Claude chat and Cowork agent tools into one interface and launched Docs and Slides, a direct challenge to Google's Workspace AI.
Anthropic is rolling the Claude chat interface and its Cowork agentic tool into a single product, initially for Pro and Max subscribers. Alongside that merge, the company shipped Docs and Slides, letting users generate documents and presentations inside Claude chats that can be exported, edited, and shared.
The bundle pushes Claude further into daily knowledge-work workflows rather than staying a chat-only assistant, mirroring the productivity-suite play Google and Microsoft have run for years.
Anthropic is betting that owning the interface — not just the model — is what keeps enterprise seats sticky, and Docs/Slides puts it in direct collision with Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 Copilot on their own turf. Whoever wins the daily-document habit wins the seat-license revenue that actually pays for frontier model training.
