Meta's new coding agent targets complex, enterprise-scale software projects, expanding its push into AI developer tools alongside Muse Spark 1.2.
Meta launched Muse Code, an AI coding agent it says can handle complex tasks across large, complex software systems, alongside an update to its Muse Spark model. The release extends Meta's AI coding lineup as it competes for developer mindshare against GitHub Copilot, Anthropic's Claude Code, and other agentic coding tools.
Meta is positioning Muse Code specifically around the harder problem of navigating large, messy codebases rather than greenfield scripting, a segment where most coding agents still struggle.
Enterprise codebases, not toy repos, are where coding agents either prove their ROI or get shelved. If Muse Code genuinely handles legacy complexity, it puts pressure on incumbents pricing per-seat coding assistants and raises the bar for what counts as a credible agent launch.
