Uber rival inDrive plans to test Pony.ai robotaxis running on Nvidia infrastructure in Kazakhstan's capital starting in early 2027.
inDrive, a ride-hailing competitor to Uber, is planning robotaxi tests in Central Asia using Pony.ai's autonomous vehicles and Nvidia hardware, with trials set to begin in Kazakhstan's capital in the first half of 2027. The partnership marks one of the first announced autonomous vehicle deployments in the region.
The deal extends Pony.ai's international expansion strategy beyond China and the US, while giving Nvidia another commercial proof point for its autonomous driving stack outside traditional AV markets.
Robotaxi operators are racing to lock in emerging markets before incumbents like Waymo and Tesla arrive, and Central Asia offers lighter regulatory friction for early pilots. For Nvidia, every new AV partnership reinforces its infrastructure lock-in beyond data centers and into transportation.
