AMD announced an all-stock acquisition of World Labs, the AI research lab co-founded by Dr. Fei-Fei Li, valued at approximately $8.2 billion. Li will join AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist, a title that signals the chipmaker wants research leadership, not just IP.
